BackgroundTechnical Solutions is a full service management, public relations, government relations, and media management firm headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, with a Tucson affiliate. The principals are Susan Bitter Smith, CAE and Paul Smith, as well as an additional staff of ten. Technical Solutions provides full service government affairs services including direct federal, state, and local lobbying activities with agencies ranging from the Federal Communications Commission, to the Arizona Corporation Commission, to the Arizona Legislature and Arizona municipalities. In addition, we perform campaign management, issue research and management, public and media relations, media placement, and grassroots organization and fulfillment. We have coordinated a number of grassroots campaigns with both Hill & Knowlton and Fleishman-Hillard and have done direct lobbying through the Multi-State network. Grass roots organization is one of our specialties, particularly in light of our extensive political campaign experience. Technical Solutions has considerable expertise in managing grass roots neighborhood outreach for development and redevelopment projects, having recently successfully completed two such outreach campaigns in Scottsdale, Arizona: the Main Street Plaza (Loloma) redevelopment and the Scottsdale Waterfront development. We continue to work on similar grassroots efforts in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Goodyear and various other valley cities. Our work with Arizona campaigns includes candidates for Congress, Governor, Attorney General, State Treasurer, the Arizona Corporation Commission, Maricopa County offices, the legislature, and many municipalities. In addition, we have managed and/or participated in numerous initiative and referendum elections at the state, county, and municipal levels. Present and past governmental affairs clients include the Arizona Cable Telecommunications Association, Americans for Affordable Electricity, AT&T Wireless, Alltel, Arizona Internet Service Providers Association, Direct Impact, La Posada Resort, DMJM Arizona, Inc. (Daniel, Mann, Johnson, & Mendanhall), Arizona State University (pro bono), United States Fireworks Safety Council, Professional Medical Transport, Biodyne Health Systems, Maricopa Integrated Health System, Citizens for a Sound Economy, Southern Union Gas Company, Spectrum Health, Health Insurance Association of America, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the American Mineral Resource Alliance. In addition, Technical Solutions has worked as a local agent/operative for Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations Firm and as a local operative for Multi-State Associates. Technical Solutions is also an Arizona outreach operative for Hill & Knowlton, Inc. In 2008 and 2009 Technical Solutions was named as one of the members of AZ Magazine’s million dollar club. |
